    hello + welcome!

    i'm kelsy mccartney, one half of the duo that is {the mccartneys} photography. photography is one of my strongest passions and i am so excited to share this with you!

    the shots i love most capture originality + joy in moments. i enjoy relating to my subjects and strive to get the kind of pictures they're after, delivering images that are beautiful + honest + romantic. celebrations with you + your loved ones are times to treasure, and any images that represent these gatherings should reflect the joy you create together. let me show you these moments.

    have i mentioned that weddings + engagements are my absolute favorite? tied with this is portraiture of families, high school seniors + newborns. yes, i realize this covers the entire spectrum of life, but i just can't help it. i see beauty in each opportunity to photograph love in every form possible. there is truly nothing better than enjoying every aspect of your job, and i can't wait to share my passion with you!

we were so excited when laura + reid asked us to come over and photograph their new baby eli — little guy number two! he was so strong at this early age and we couldn’t believe how much he was able to lift his head up. butch and i definitely plan to have kids, and every time we have a newborn session we just want to take them home with us… or at least i do :) here are a few images from eli’s session!

and here’s big brother kai, bringing is “HUGE” bear to share… that along with laura’s freshly baked chocolate chip cookies made for a nice end to eli’s session — thanks again, laura!

kilen 3 months | woodbury baby photographer

goodness, time flies when you’re busy! once again i’ve been so busy updating our main blog that i haven’t splashed any life to my fun portfolio page. but i’m here! it’s friday, and i see a few posts in the forecast. where to start when you’re this far behind? i’m going to skip over a few sessions and share kilen’s 3 month photos with you. he is just such a cutie and although these photos are 2 months old, i can’t pass them up. his 6 month session is just around the corner and i can’t even wait!! enjoy — and let those big blue eyes of his melt your heart, they certainly have mine reduced to mush :)

kilen was SO expressive + curious, we just had a blast. i think this one below might be my favorite…

kilen | woodbury newborn photography

we just photographed the cutest baby boy, kilen, on his 21st day of life! his sweet eyes and curious expressions were so photogenic i could have taken his picture all day long! enjoy these pictures and stay tuned, we’re excited to say we will be able to photograph him as he grows! {excuse my excessive use of ! in this post, he is just sooooo cute!} :)
